As we know from the letter of Ukrainian filmmaker Oleg Sentsov that was recently distributed through the media, he decided to end his 145-days hunger strike in a Russian jail. Oleg originally hoped to only end his protest once the Kremlin released 64 Ukrainian political prisoners understood to be held in Russia. In a handwritten statement released by his lawyer, he said he had been forced to abandon his protest because of the “critical state of his health” and the impending threat of hospitalization and force-feeding.
