During the meeting sides discusseda wide range of issues of mutual interest for both countries.

The Ambassador congratulated the Minister with successful chairmanship of South Africa in theUnited Nations Security Councilin January this year and thanked for significant contribution of South Africa to issues of climate change and high level of organization and holding of the 17th World Conference on Climate Change (COP-17).

Sidesconfirmed their interest in further deepening of bilateral cooperation between Ukraine and South Africa and noted the convergence of positions on many issues in the framework of international organizations, including the UN.

In this context, the Ambassador and the Minister agreed that the exchange of high-level visits will contribute to strengthening of bilateral relations and will open new opportunities in many areas of international cooperation, including trade, economy and science and technology.
