In recent years scientific and technological cooperation between Ukraine and South Africa has intensified.
Bilateral scientific and technical cooperation between Ukraine and South Africa is based on the Agreement between the Government of Ukraine and the Government of South Africa on cooperation in science and technology.
On September 29, 2016, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the State Space Agency of Ukraine and the National Space Agency of South Africa on cooperation in the field of research and use of outer space for peaceful purposes.
On February 26, 2018, in Pretoria (South Africa) a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the State Agency of Fisheries of Ukraine and the Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of South Africa on the system of international scientific observation of the Commission for the Conservation of Antarctic Marine Living Resources.
The parties are working on concluding an Agreement between the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and the South African Nuclear Energy Corporation in the field of peaceful uses of nuclear energy.
