Trade and economic cooperation
According to the results of 2021, the volume of bilateral trade in goods amounted to 4.09 million USD and decreased by 28% compared to the same period in 2020. At the same time, the export of goods from Ukraine to Mauritius amounted to 3.35 million USD (a decrease of 31.6%), and the import of goods from Mauritius to Ukraine amounted to 740.6 thousand USD (a decrease of 5.9%). The positive balance for Ukraine during this period amounted to 2.61 million USD.
Exports are mainly represented by iron and steel- 1.13 million USD (in 2020, the products were not exported), edible vegetables – 974.9 thousand USD (decrease by 15.2%), animal or vegetable fats and oils- 307.7 thousand USD (decrease by 10.8 times), residues and waste from the food industries - 294.1 thousand USD (decrease by 2.4%) and preparations of meat, of fish– 198.8 thousand USD (no products were exported in 2020). Imports mainly consisted of the following commodity items:
- Articles of apparel and clothing accessories, not knitted or crocheted - 194.2 thousand USD (decrease by 24.2%);
- Preparations of meat, of fish - 187.7 thousand USD (decrease by 17.7%);
- Sugars and sugar confectionery - 144.8 thousand USD (decrease by 21.8%).
Export of services in 2021 amounted to 554.1 thousand USD (a decrease of 32.2%), and imports amounted to 610.1 thousand USD (27.5% increase).
