Ambassador of Ukraine in the Republic of South Africa H.E. Dr. Valery Hrebeniuk met with Mrs. Helen Zille, Premier of Western Cape and leader of South African largest opposition party «Democratic Alliance».

During the meeting sides discussed issues of intensification of bilateral cooperation between Ukraine and South Africa in the inter-parliamentary and regional cooperation, economy, agriculture and tourism.

Helen Zille expressed interest in establishing of direct ties with our country, activity of bilateral Ukrainian - South African Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Group, deepening business relations. The Premier also expressed readiness to consider the possibility of participation of Ukrainian producers in projects undertaken by the Government of Western Cape. Special attention was paid to cooperation in spheres of agriculture and tourism. In this context Ambassador and Premier stressed the interest of both sides in visa facilitation between two countries.

The sides agreed to intensify activity on the creation of the Ukrainian - South African Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Group (South African side), to realize bilateral visits. In order to attract foreign investments and develop business dialogue between two countries the sides also agreed to exchange of regional investment projects.
