On November 19, 2025, the Russian Federation carried out an airstrike on Ukrainian territory, including the city of Ternopil, deliberately hitting residential apartment buildings. At least 26 people, including children, were killed and 73 injured. Rescue operations are ongoing.
To honor the memory of the victims of this crime, the Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of South Africa has lowered its national flags to half-mas and opened a Book of Condolences.
We extend our deepest condolences to the families of those killed and injured. This barbaric attack is yet another proof of the criminal nature of Russia’s aggression. The aggressor must face justice, and the international community must strengthen efforts to hold those responsible accountable.
