On 16-18 January, 2012 Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of South Africa H.E. Dr. Valery Hrebeniuk took part in the events of the Ha!Qua Youth Program in Cape Town.
The Program included soccer tournament among girls aged 13 – 17 year old. The Ukrainian team took part in the tournament.
During the events Ambassador of Ukraine Dr. Valery Hrebeniuk met with the head of Ha!Qua Youth Program, the former Executive Mayor of Hessequa Municipality Christopher Taute. In Hessequa is located Museum of Ukrainian culture, was established in 2010.
During the meeting sides discussed issues of regional cooperation, including realization of the programs of cooperation in the framework of the Ha!Qua Youth Program for the nearest future. Currently these relations are developed actively. In particular on June, 2012 the delegation from South Africa will visit to Ukraine. On October, 2012 the delegation of Ukraine will visit to the Republic of South Africa.
At the end of the meeting Ukrainian and South African sides underlined the importance of friendship ties which was established six years ago and emphasized the development of interregional cooperation which will contribute to the widening of friendly relations between Ukraine and Republic of South Africa.
During the events Ambassador of Ukraine Dr. Valery Hrebeniuk presented honorary diploma of MFA of Ukraine to Christopher Taute for significant contribution to the development of Ukrainian-South African relations.
