On May 24, 2012 Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of South Africa Dr. Valery Hrebeniuk participated in the Panel Discussion, which was organized by Thabo Mbeki Fundation. Former South African president T.Mbeki, former president of the Republic of Mozambique J.Chissano, former president of Cape Verde P.Piresa and former president of Nigeria O.Obasanjo took part in this event.

The main topics of the Discussion were problems of modern Africa's development in the context of current global challenges, the vision of the regulation of regional and global conflicts.

During the discussion, the former leaders of African countries discussed problems of building of post-colonial societies. The main obstacles of these societies are geopolitical challenges in the world, the problem of relationships in the African society and activities of new national leaders who "have no roots in the struggle for independence of their countries."

Overcoming poverty and providing of substantial development of African countries by the use of combination of individual and collective efforts of the leaders of the continent, and their active participation in global economic and political processes is the main task of current’s governments in Africa.
