In the framework of the Presidents Interaction with Heads of diplomatic missions accredited to South Africa Ambassador of Ukraine Dr. Valery Hrebeniuk met with President of the Republic of South Africa Jacob Zuma.
Participants of the Presidents Interaction discussed the issues of cooperation of South Africa and whole African continent with other countries, several actual issues of international agenda in the context of the activity of Security Council and the African Union, the resolving of regional conflicts, particularly in Africa and the Middle East, as well as global problems - poverty, terrorism, and AIDS.
During the conversation with President J.Zuma V.Hrebeniuk discussed the issues of cooperation between Ukraine and South Africa in various fields. Ambassador of Ukraine emphasized the interest of the Ukrainian side in deepening relations with South Africa in political, economic, scientific and technical spheres. V.Hrebeniuk also informed the President of South Africa about success of the European Championship 2012 in Ukraine and Poland.
From his side J.Zuma informed about the main foreign policy priorities of South African government aimed at strengthening the economic situation in the context of global economic crisis. The President emphasized the interest in cooperation with Ukraine as a country that has great economic and scientific-technical potential and an important partner in Eastern Europe.
