On 26 February 2018 a ceremony of signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between the State Agency of Fisheries of Ukraine and the Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of the Republic of South Africa concerning the Scheme of International Scientific Observation of the Commission for the Conservation of the Antarctic Marine Living Resources took place in Pretoria.

This bilateral document is very important for boosting cooperation between Ukraine and South Africa in the scientific and research sphere of fisheries, since effective scientific observation of the Antarctic marine living resources is earnest of success of their preservation and rational use.
