On March 1, 2014 Orthodox Church in Johannesburg (South Africa) hosted a memorial service for the victims of the Maidan and held public prayer for peace in Ukraine. Heads of diplomatic missions of foreign states, representatives of Ukrainian and Russian communities and local people took part in this event. After the memorial service, Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of South Africa H.E. Dr. Valery Hrebeniuk expressed condolences to families of Maidan’s victims and noted that heroes who gave their lives for building Ukraine as a sovereign and democratic European State.

Book of condolences was opened at the Embassy which is grateful to heads of diplomatic missions of foreign states and to all persons, who expressed their condolences for victims in Ukraine.
